Katherine Anne Porter once wrote "Human life itself may be almost pure chaos, but the work of the artist is to take these handfuls of confusion and disparate things, things that seem to be irreconcilable, and put them together in a frame to give them some kind of shape and meaning."
It makes you wonder, how do we get around the chaos? is it pending like a sword over our heads? maybe life itself is pure chaos but there are some paths to follow.
There comes a time when every life goes off course. In this desperate moment you must choose your direction. Will you fight to stay on the path while others tell you who you are? Or will you label yourself? Will you be honored by your choice? Or will you embrace your new path? Each morning you choose to move forward or to simply give up.
Because it's only when you're tested that you truly discover who you are. And it's only when you're tested that you discover who you can be. The person that you want to be does exist, somewhere in the other side of hard work and faith, and belief and beyond the heartache and fear of what life has.
There are moments in our lives when we find ourselves at a crossroad, afraid, confused, without a roadmap. The choices we make in those moments can define the rest of our days. Of course when faced with the unknown, most of us prefer to turn around and go back.
There's nothing wrong with the fear, it's just part of the whole chaos, it keeps us safe from danger along the way but we cannot live in fear, we can live with him but not in it. Because we have to walk over a mine field and fear won't carry us, we need to make the steps, with death always one step away. Why? Why should we walk over such a dangerous place? And we could choose to stay still, we would be safe but stuck in the same place or we can walk knowing that every step can change our lives forever but if it didn't we would be one step closer to get where we want to be.
And we should go ahead... many people die with their music still in them. Too often it is because they are always getting ready to live. Before they know it, time runs out.
